My name is Dr. William J. Ward but you can call me Bill, a.k.a DR4WARD.

I have been "Digging For Worms" and applying my "4Ward philosophy" since I was nine when I started my first business selling night crawlers on Cowan Lake in Rockford, Michigan where I grew up.   My business grew by providing my customers with the best, freshest worms and fishing tips around.

The purpose of this blog is to provide diagnosis and prognosis of concepts such as integrated marketing communications / 360 degree branding and to engage readers in a discussion of their impact on society.  I hope we can help each other understand what these terms really mean. I have noticed that the concepts of integrated marketing communications / 360 degree branding have been getting a lot of media attention.  I find it all fascinating and have some strong opinions on these subjects.  Sharing my thoughts and my questions via a blog seem like a good way to join the conversation. 

You might wonder why you should care about my opinion and thoughts on these subjects, and I would understand that. Here is why - over the years I have been quoted in USA TODAY, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Christian Science Monitor, The Lions Daily, the Associate Press Wire, and have been interviewed on radio and television. Oh yeah, I am also a guest blogger and Board Member of the Rochester American Marketing Association (RAMA). 

I have studied and practiced marketing since I was nine, won a few awards and accolades along the way, and have taught international marketing at universities in the U.S., China, Italy, and France.  You can review my complete bio and professional associations here.
