Engaging In Chinese Social Media - Best Practice In China's Social Media #slideshow

Engaging In Chinese Social Media - Best Practice In China's Social Media

Introduction: The Great Wall of China, built over centuries and still standing today, was designed to control the border and protect the Chinese Empire against physical intrusions. The Great Wall came to symbolize a psychological barrier between Chinese civilization and the rest of the world, creating a land of mystery. Today, the Great Firewall of China maintains both the psychological barrier and the mystery that began with the Great Wall.

Why is a quarter of the world’s population using entirely different social media platforms? What are they? How powerful are they? And most importantly, how can a foreigner get through the Great Firewall and engage in Chinese social media? William Ward and Xioye Zhou will share their findings on Chinese social media from their ongoing research and experimentation.

Outline:

  • Social Media Landscape Worldwide
  • Social Media Landscape Asia pacific
  • Why Is Chinese Social Media Different?
  • Social Media Comparison U.S. v. China
  • How Powerful Is Chinese Social Media?
  • How To Get Through The Great Firewall?
  • Our Experiments and Accomplishments with Chinese Social Media
  • Suggestions on engaging in Chinese Social Media
