"Weekly Tasks"
1. Set up and check your Social Influence and run some analytics.
A. Set up your Klout profile.
- Add your social media bio, profile picture, and connect your social media accounts that you use to Klout. Add Facebook if you are using it in a professional way. If you are only using Facebook for personal purposes consider if you want those posts visibile with your Klout score.
- Sign up for Klout Perks.
- Check your Klout Score. Now, check an industry pro you admire.
B. Get your Kred.
- Check your Kred influence score. Now, check an industry pro you admire.
C. Try PeerIndex
- Check your PeerIndex score. Now, check an industry pro you admire.
- Check your PeerPerk
D. Tweet Reach
- See how far your Tweet traveled. Now, check an industry pro you admire.
E. Using Google+ send a Limited Direct Mention Instructor Assistant Shuai Wang to share your scores.
2. Social Engagement - Post to Twitter, LinkedIn and Google+
Note: Over the course of this week (Mon., Sept. 23 through Sun., Sept. 29) post at least 20 class related items on each platform: Twitter, LI ad G+. Tweets, LinkedIn posts and G+ posts not related to class do not count for the total. Use the class Hashtag #NewhouseSM4 or your team Hashtag for all class related Tweets, LinkedIn, G+ posts.
The objective of this assignment is to engage with others, not simply announce. Your posts and live event tweeting can count towards your total. Your 20 posts on each of the different platforms must be over 5-7 days. Example 3 x 7 days = 21 / 4 x 5 days = 20
Note: Use Hootsuite Pro to Post To Twitter and LinkedIn. You will have to copy and paste your posts to also post on G+.
* Reminder - Hootsuite works with G+ Pages but does not work with G+ Profile. Google has not shared the API for G+ Profile.
- Follow @JoeFernandez CEO of Klout and thank him for his @Hootsuite_U Webinar. Include the #NewhouseSM4 Hashtag in your Tweet.
- Add a comment to a professional on Google+ and thank them for something that they shared that you find interesting. Tell them why or ask a question. Include the #NewhouseSM4 Hashtag in your G+ post.
- Over the course of the week comment on at least five of your classmates' Google+ posts.
You may not accrue all of your responses at one time. They must be
spread out over 5-7 days with a maximum of 2 per day counting toward
your total. Include the #NewhouseSM4 Hashtag in your comment.
- Reshare - Reshare one of the posts from a different a pro that you follow on Google+ that you found interesting. Be sure to include their +First name / last name userid with the to give them credit. Include the #NewhouseSM4 Hashtag in your post.
- G+ Find & Follow - Find & Follow G+ profiles for 5 more new people / organizations you are now following on Twitter. These links / userids are often listed right on the blog or have the Twitter icon or G+ to click on. You can also type their name into search on each platform.
- Add to your G+ Circle - add the 5 new people that you are following to your "Industry Pros" G+ Circle you create.
- Twitter, LinkedIn & G+ - Post to Twitter and LinkedIn and G+ to the class recommending they follow these 5 new people and explain why. Include the #NewhouseSM4 Hashtag in your Tweet and the individual Twitter usderids with the @symbol and +profile name on G+. (You cannot use the same 5 people as other students)
- Twitter, LinkedIn & G+ - Post to Twitter and LinkedIn and to G+ with a link to the homepage or a post from one of the 5 new blogs you are following or subscribing to. Include the #NewhouseSM4 Hashtag in your Tweet and G+ post.
- RT - Retweet to Twitter and Reshare on LinkedIn & G+ one of the posts from a different Pro that you follow that you found interesting. Be sure to include their Twitter userid with the @symbol on Twitter and their +profile name on G+ to give them credit. Include the #NewhouseSM4 Hashtag in your Tweet and G+ post.
3. Using Google+ send a Limited Direct Mention Instructor Assistant Shuai Wang when you have completed this list.
